When I started out working at Cafe Racer Nation, before actually working at the cafe, I worked on a couple of projects for other shops. One of those projects was with Derbi Senda from Spain. At that time, I didn’t really know much about the Derbi Senda. However, now that I’m more familiar with it and have ridden one myself, I would say it is exactly as what you see in the images above.
The Derbi Senda has a very simple and straightforward design, and the frame itself is the biggest piece of the bike. For example, when you look at one of these bikes from far away, you won’t really see the frame that much. This is because it has been built with such a short wheelbase (from what I understand, it’s 120mm long).
The other thing to note about Derbi Senda is that it is also made for riders who are very serious about their sport riding. The reason for this is because it is very low, almost at the same height as your feet. This gives the rider more leverage when cornering.
This was something that I noticed on my own Senda when riding it for the very first time. It is one of the most fun bikes to ride on track because you feel like you have so much more control over your bike. There are very few consequences of crashing because if you hit a bump, it is so short that you can get back up on your feet immediately after.
On top of this, with this model of Derbi Senda, there are no seat cowls or fairings that are attached to the actual frame itself. This makes the bike lighter and easier to handle.
