You’ve probably heard of lord ganesha, the god of wealth. We are most familiar with the popular image of Lord Ganesha with his divine headdress and garland of trinkets. However, there are thousands of images of lord ganesha that date back to ancient India, including representations of him in the Hindu pantheon.
In the case of the godlike god Ganesha is almost like the god of the underworld whose influence was felt by the Greeks in the days of Hell. The image’s origin, however, is uncertain. It likely comes from the Greek deity Athena or Hermes.
The Greeks used godlike images for the same purpose in their own temples and shrines. The godlike images in Hindu temples are known as nirvana and are used to worship the god(s) within the temple. However, the images of lord ganesha don’t have any of these features. Instead, he is depicted as a white male warrior in the form of a standing male. The images’ association with the god of hell is also unclear.
The image of lord ganesha is known in Hindu mythology as Siva (meaning “the lord of time”) and one of the main deities of the Hindu pantheon. Siva is also called Lord of the Wealth, though this is more a reference to his wealth and prosperity than his power. He is also a good king who will help his people in times of need. The image is often compared to the god of war Ares.
Some of us seem to recognize the title of lord ganesha because it’s not the same god that killed god. But the title of lord ganesha has been in use for the last two generations of their family and their father. We have to know a lot about the population of people with a monkey head to figure out if it is a majority or a minority.
