I’ve been taking photos of Krishna’s many incarnations and incarnations 2.0. I’m hoping to make them one of the first of a series of photos of this amazing, spiritual figure that has walked through the years.
Bhagwan is a Sanskrit term for the one who has attained liberation, or the one who has attained salvation. When I think of Krishna, I think of a lot of pictures and videos of him and his friends. So I was pretty excited to find out that Bhagwan, the God of Gods, is a good name for Krishna, too. I wasn’t sure if that was an actual name or just a nickname for Krishna that he picked up to distinguish him from other Krishna-like characters, but I’ll save all those other names for another time.
It was just a nickname. Also, it is a good name for Krishna that is similar to his other nicknames, like Vishnu, Shiva, Shiva-Gandhim, and Lakshmi. So, I wouldn’t pick up on it as a nickname, but it is a good name for Krishna, so I will say it anyway.
So, I asked my friend who is a photographer, why she decided to name her camera after him. I asked her to point out the similarities between his and her names. She gave me some really good tips. First, as she noted, she had a lot of fun choosing the names for her two cameras. One was named after a friend who was killed while she was a little kid and the other was named after a childhood crush she had.
I think it’s important to use nicknames for photos, because being a photographer is a different kind of job than being a blogger, which is why they’re different. I think it’s important to be able to talk about yourself freely and without judgment, but photography isn’t like blogging. Blogging is a solitary activity, while photography is collaborative.
I think it’s important to find a photo that speaks to you, it doesn’t have to be a glamorous photo that shows off your best features. Sometimes the camera just makes a picture of you, it isn’t always a nice picture but a good photograph is always a good photograph.
Photography is like blogging in that it can be done alone, but it is also collaborative. In photography, it is like writing a blog. I think there are some bloggers that would argue that photography is more like writing than blogging. I think bloggers are the same. I don’t know if I could argue against them, but I find myself arguing with myself more for good reason. I mean, I can write, but I can’t speak.
