It’s been a long time since we covered space astronomy 2, and in the meantime there have been some really great new mods that are worth taking a look at. The mod list has also changed up quite a bit from what it used to be. It’s important to remember that this is not an all-inclusive list of every good space astronomy 2 mod out there, but rather just some of the best ones that I think will help you get started with your game on the right foot.
The Deep Space Exploration and Research mod is both a tech tree advancement, as well as an atlas of space exploration. It starts you off in the solar system, but eventually you’ll be able to explore other galaxies and even use wormholes to travel anywhere your heart desires. The research also offers bonuses for exploring much like how mounting expeditions did it back when they were still around.
If this sounds appealing then I recommend following through with installing this one!
Another great addition that just came out includes the option for players who want more control over their empire’s infrastructure development choices outside of combat engineering. This means that instead of having preset structures or relying on building modules to provide what each planet needs individually, now there’s a lot more variety in what you can do. For example, if your planet is lacking food production but has plenty of natural resources for other things then you could create an agricultural plant that would take those raw materials and turn them into food or minerals instead. If all three planets are low on food then the agriculture plant may be able to produce enough for each one with only some farming land allocated to it as well!
The space astronomy mod list offers players many new ways to experience the game they love: from being able to explore different galaxies and using wormholes, to research bonuses and much more. One great thing about this particular addition is how there’s less reliance on preset structures when developing infrastructure outside of combat engineering; meaning that you’ll be able to develop space stations that are not only better defended but also more efficient with a greater amount of potential uses.

Space Telescope Mods: The first thing you can do is to explore other galaxies and use wormholes with the help of a special module for your spaceship that allows you to travel through hyperspace. A cool feature about this addition is how there’s less reliance on preset structures when developing infrastructure outside of combat engineering; meaning that players will be able to develop space stations that are not only better defended but also more efficient with a greater amount of potential uses. Research Bonuses: There’s an increased rate in research production which means quicker advancement! This particular bonus comes from being able to perform research in space stations or on any planet that has already been colonized. Wormholes: You can now travel through hyperspace with the help of a special module for your spaceship – but there is so much more than just creating shortcuts between galaxies, you can also use wormholes as conduits for collecting resources located outside of your galaxy and transporting them back to base without having to go through all the trouble of mining planets individually or using long-range transport ships. There are no limits when it comes to how many times you may enter a wormhole.
Now that we’ve covered the basics of gameplay, let’s talk about some features in space astronomy which are specific to this mods list:
Increased research speed due to being able to do it in space stations or on colonized planets; Wormholes can be used for collecting resources from outside your galaxy and transporting them back without having to travel through long distances (useful when you run out of fuel); The “fog” layer around stars has been replaced by a dotted line.
This is just an introduction into what Space Astronomy offers – there’s so much more! We hope you enjoy exploring these new possibilities as well as all the other features this mod adds.
